A long-time exposure reveals the movement of water around coves ( the white streaks ) amid the light lingering after sunset in late August 2015. The blue shadow of Pine Mountain rises in the background on the rugged Virginia-Kentucky border.

Looking northwest across Little Stone Mountain Gap toward the Black mountains at sunrise amid the first significant winter storm of the 2014-15 season.
With the first mountain valley frost ( high valleys ) into morning hours of September 14 it is apparent that time is passing! While the first snowflakes typically fall during October, only time will tell
if Autumn Meets Winter this year in the grand fashion which occurred just over one year ago.

*A strong +ENSO across the Equatorial Pacific and a persistent warm pool of water over the NE Pacific into the Gulf of Alaska suggests that this winter season will not mimic those of 1997 and 1982 ( the strongest El Nino's of recent record ). Forecaster's take note!
